VA or Temp?
Virtual Assistant
- A Virtual Assistant only charges for the time a project takes.
- There are no “hidden” fees or minimum contractual requirements.
- A Virtual Assistant will develop an understanding of their client’s business and practices and therefore only minimal training/discussion is usually required.
- A Virtual Assistant is an experienced professional able to cover a wide variety of services as and when required.
- A Virtual Assistant has a fully equipped office.
- A Virtual Assistant’s working hours are often very flexible and adaptable to the needs of their clients.
Temp
- Temps have to be paid for their full assignment time even if they have little or no work to do.
- Using a temp agency can often involve minimum contracted hours, an agency fee and an inflated hourly rate. Plus an “introduction fee” should you go on to employ the temp on a permanent basis.
- There is no guarantee of getting the same person each time a Temp is required, therefore vital time is wasted repeating explanations and training.
- A Temp will usually only cover their direct assignment (i.e. Receptionist), sometimes with limited experience/knowledge.
- Office space and equipment need to be provided for a Temp.
- A Temp will only usually cover normal office hours, unless they are paid at a higher rate.
